As the senior designer for The Daily Gamecock, my role involves creating intricate layouts for our monthly news magazine publication, ensuring that each story is presented in a visually engaging and accessible manner. I worked closely with both the design and management team to understand the nuances of each article and select design elements or layouts that complement and enhance the storytelling. I’ve also have had the opportunity to design the cover for both the November 2023 and April 2024 editions, combining both photos and typography to create a eye-catching visual. My design of the November 2023 cover won first place in the S.C. Press Association Collegiate Content for “Page One Design.”
